These terms are an agreement between you and Everyday Bills, Inc. ("Everyday Bills," "we" or "us"). They explain how our service works, what you can expect from us, and what we expect from you. Please read them carefully, especially the section on disputes and arbitration.

1. Accepting these terms

By creating an account or using Everyday Bills, you agree to these Terms of Service, our Rewards Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you don't agree, please don't use the service.

2. Who can use the service

To use Everyday Bills, you must be at least 18 years old, live in the United States, have a valid Social Security number, and have a US checking account in your name. You can have one Everyday Bills account. Each bank account can be linked to only one Everyday Bills member, so two people can't earn points on the same account; if an account you link is already linked to another member, we'll ask you to contact support. We verify your identity with Experian when you sign up, may ask you to verify it again at any time, and may decline to open an account if we can't verify it.

3. Your account

Keep your account information accurate and up to date, including your contact details and linked bank accounts. You're responsible for keeping access to your email and devices secure, since sign-in codes are sent there, and for all activity in your account. Add a passkey for extra protection, and tell us right away at support@everydaybills.com if you think someone else has accessed your account.

4. What Everyday Bills does and doesn't do

Everyday Bills rewards you for paying the bills you already pay. You keep paying your billers the way you always have, from your own bank accounts. We look at the transactions in the accounts you link, find your bill payments, and give you points for them. Depending on your plan, we also show your spending and your credit score, report your rent to the credit bureaus, and provide identity and privacy protection through our partners.

We don't pay bills for you, and we never move money to or from your accounts for your bills. The only money we collect from you is your membership fee (see Membership payment authorization). You remain responsible for paying your bills on time and in full. We're not responsible for late, missed or incorrect bill payments, or for any fees your billers or bank charge. Everyday Bills is a technology company, not a bank, and we don't hold your money.

5. Linking your bank accounts

You link your bank accounts through MoneyKit (part of Array), our bank connection provider. You sign in to your bank in MoneyKit's window; we never see or store your online banking username or password. MoneyKit's handling of your information is described in its privacy policy. Our access is read-only: it lets us read your account details and transactions, and it can't be used to move money.

When you link an account, you authorize us to receive, through MoneyKit, your account names, types and last 4 digits, the names of the account holders where available, and your transactions, including up to 90 days of past transactions and new transactions as they post. We use this information to find your bills and the payments you make to them, award and confirm points, show your spending tracker, report your rent if you turn on rent reporting, check that the account belongs to you, and prevent fraud. We don't sell your transaction data. See our Privacy Policy for details.

Bank connections sometimes stop working, for example when you change your bank password. We'll ask you to reconnect. While an account is disconnected we can't see new payments from it, and payments we find more than 60 days after they were made don't earn points, so reconnect promptly. You can unlink an account anytime in your Profile. If your membership fee is paid from your bank account, keep a checking account linked (or switch to paying by card) while your membership is active. Unlinking doesn't remove points you've already earned.

6. Plans, pricing and billing

Everyday Bills offers three paid plans:

  • Essentials: $39.99 a month or $399.00 a year. Points on up to 3 bills, the spending tracker and your credit score.
  • Unlimited: $49.99 a month or $499.00 a year. Points on all your bills, the spending tracker, your credit score, rent reporting, identity protect and privacy protect.
  • Household: $89.99 a month or $899.00 a year. Everything in Unlimited for you and up to 3 more adults you invite. Each person has their own login and earns points on their own bills up to their own monthly limit. The person who starts the household pays for it.

On Essentials, you choose which 3 of your bills earn points. If you don't choose, we pick the 3 that earn the most points, starting with rent. All your bills stay visible either way.

Your membership renews automatically each month or year, depending on the billing period you choose, and we collect the fee on your renewal date, from the card or bank account you choose, until you cancel. If you pay yearly, we'll remind you at least 30 days before each renewal. If you switch from Essentials to Unlimited, the change takes effect right away and we collect the prorated difference for the rest of your billing period. If you switch from Unlimited to Essentials, the change takes effect on your next renewal date; from then on 3 of your bills earn points, and rent reporting, identity protect and privacy protect end.

We may change our prices. If we do, we'll tell you at least 30 days before the new price applies to you, and you can cancel before then.

7. Membership payment authorization

You can pay your membership fee by card (credit or debit) or from your linked checking account by ACH. When you start a paid membership, you authorize Everyday Bills and our billing partner, Stripe, to charge the card you choose, or to electronically debit (ACH) the checking account you choose, for your membership fee, in the amount shown when you sign up, on the day you join and on each renewal date (monthly or yearly), and for the prorated difference if you upgrade. Card details are entered directly with Stripe; we don't see or store your full card number. If a debit is returned, we may try it again. Refunds are credited to the same account. This is the only debit we make: we never debit your account to pay bills.

You can change how you pay (a different card, or your bank account) in your Profile; the change applies from your next charge. This authorization stays in effect until you cancel your membership or close your account, and you must give us enough notice to act on it. You can also contact your bank to stop a debit.

8. Money-back guarantee

If you're not happy with Everyday Bills, you can request a full refund of your membership charges within 30 days of first joining. Request it from your Profile or by contacting support. When we issue the refund, your membership ends and all points earned during your membership, available and pending, are removed. That's why cash-outs open only after your first 30 days. The guarantee applies once per person and doesn't apply to memberships paid by an organization.

9. Failed membership payments

If a membership charge doesn't go through, we'll let you know and may try the charge again. You have 7 days to retry the payment, or to switch to another card or your bank account. During those 7 days your rewards and plan features keep working. After 7 days, we pause your rewards: bill payments made while your membership is paused don't earn points, and your credit score, rent reporting and protection features pause too. Your bills, history and points stay in your account, and earning resumes once your membership is paid.

10. Errors and questions about charges

If you think a membership charge is wrong or wasn't authorized, tell us as soon as possible at support@everydaybills.com with your name, the date and amount of the charge and why you think it's wrong. We'll investigate and tell you what we find, usually within 10 business days. You may have additional rights under the Electronic Fund Transfer Act and other applicable law, and nothing in these terms limits those rights. If you think points for a bill payment are missing or wrong, use Report a problem on the payment in the app.

11. Bills we find for you

We look for recurring payments in your linked accounts that look like bills, such as rent, utilities, phone and internet, insurance and loan payments. Some bill types are added to your bills automatically; others are shown as suggestions for you to confirm. Only payments to bills that are active in your account earn points. You can confirm or ignore a suggestion, change a bill's name or type, stop tracking a bill, or point us to a bill payment we missed from your transaction list.

Finding bills from bank transactions is automated and won't always be right. We may miss a bill, recognize one late, or put it in the wrong bill type, and we may correct a bill's type and the points it earns. Rent and other payments made through person-to-person apps (such as Zelle or Venmo) can earn points only for a bill you've confirmed, and our team reviews them before their points are confirmed. Changing a bill to rent may also be reviewed. How points are earned, confirmed and reversed is explained in our Rewards Terms.

12. Spending tracker

Every plan includes a spending tracker that groups the transactions in your linked accounts by category. Categories are assigned automatically and may not always be accurate. The tracker is for your information only and isn't financial, tax or investment advice.

13. Credit score

Every plan includes your credit score from our credit score partner. When you turn it on, you authorize us and our partner to obtain your credit score and related information from a credit bureau using the identity details you gave us at sign-up. This is a soft inquiry and doesn't affect your credit score. We refresh your score monthly. The score we show is for your information; lenders may use different scoring models and may see a different score.

14. Rent reporting

Unlimited members, including members whose membership is paid by an organization, may choose to have their rent reported to Experian, Equifax and TransUnion through our rent reporting partner. To turn it on, you confirm your rent bill (we find it in the account you pay rent from), give your lease details, verify your lease by uploading it or having your landlord confirm it, and accept the credit reporting disclosure. Reporting starts after your lease is verified.

Each month we report the rent payment we detect in your linked account for that month. On-time payments can help build your credit history. A payment we detect 30 or more days after your rent's due day may be reported as late, which can lower your credit score. If we don't detect a rent payment for a month (for example because you paid in cash, by money order, or from an account you haven't linked), that month isn't reported; we never report a month as missed. You can stop at any time; months already reported stay on your credit file as allowed by law. Reporting doesn't guarantee any change to your credit score. You can dispute any reported month in the app; we'll investigate and respond within 30 days. We report accurately what happened; we can't remove accurate information.

15. Identity protect and privacy protect

Unlimited includes identity protect and privacy protect, provided by our partners. Identity protect monitors for signs that someone is using your identity (for example on the dark web, with your Social Security number, or in your credit file) and alerts you; if you tell us an alert wasn't you, our partner's restoration team helps you, and identity theft insurance is provided by our partner under its own terms. Privacy protect scans people-search and data-broker sites for your listings, asks them to remove you, and rescans about every 30 days. We can't guarantee that every listing will be found or removed, or that listings won't reappear.

When you turn on either feature, you authorize us to share the information our partner needs to provide it, such as your name, date of birth, address, email, phone number and Social Security number. These features end if you switch to Essentials, cancel, or your membership is paused, and some partner services may have their own terms that you'll see before you turn them on.

16. Sponsored memberships

If an employer, property manager, financial institution or other organization covers your membership, it pays your membership fee while you're eligible, and you get Unlimited. The organization sees only that you've enrolled and totals across its program (groups smaller than 10 are hidden), never your bills, transactions, payment amounts, bank details or points. A biller that funds bonus points sees totals only, never who you are. If you use Everyday Bills through your bank or credit union's own app, that institution receives your bills, the bill payments we find and your points so it can show them to you there. If you stop being eligible, your sponsored membership ends at the end of that month and you can continue on a personal plan. Organizations may fund bonus points through campaigns, which follow our Rewards Terms.

17. Rewards program

Points and rewards are governed by our Rewards Terms, which are part of this agreement. Points have no cash value except as described there.

18. Partner offers

We may show you offers from partners, such as insurers or phone and internet providers, based on the bill types you have. These are marked as sponsored. If you choose an offer, you'll deal directly with the partner under its own terms, and we may earn a fee. We're not responsible for partner products or services. We only share your information with a partner after you choose to continue to its site.

19. Things you agree not to do

You agree not to:

  • Use the service for anything illegal, fraudulent or deceptive
  • Link a bank account that isn't yours, or use someone else's identity or bank account
  • Make payments mainly to earn points, such as paying yourself, sending money in circles, or making payments you then reverse or get refunded
  • Describe a payment as rent or another bill when it isn't one
  • Interfere with the service, access it with bots or scripts, or try to get around security or limits
  • Copy, reverse engineer or resell any part of the service

20. Communications and electronic records

You agree that we can give you notices, statements, receipts and disclosures electronically, by email or in the app, as described in the electronic records consent you accepted at sign-up. If you turn on text messages, message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to opt out or HELP for help.

21. Canceling, suspension and termination

You can cancel your membership anytime from your Profile. When you cancel, your membership ends, we stop collecting your fee, new bill payments stop earning points, and you have 90 days to cash out your available points. Charges already made aren't refunded except under the money-back guarantee. Your bank accounts stay linked until you unlink them or close your account; closing your account disconnects them and deletes your stored transactions, as described in our Privacy Policy.

We may suspend or close your account if you break these terms, if we suspect fraud or misuse, if required by law or our partners, or if we stop offering the service. When possible, we'll tell you in advance and give you a chance to cash out your points, unless the closure is because of fraud or misuse.

22. Disclaimers

We work hard to keep Everyday Bills running smoothly, but the service is provided "as is" and "as available." To the extent the law allows, we don't make promises beyond those stated in these terms, including that the service will always be available or error-free, that we'll find every bill or payment, that information from your bank or our partners is accurate, that your credit score will change, or that any partner offer will save you money.

23. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Everyday Bills isn't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or lost profits, or for late fees or other charges related to bills you pay. Our total liability for any claim related to the service is limited to the greater of the membership fees you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or $100. Some states don't allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

24. Disputes and arbitration

Please read this section carefully. It affects your rights. If you have a problem, contact us first at support@everydaybills.com. We'll try to resolve it informally within 60 days.

If we can't, you and Everyday Bills agree to resolve any dispute through binding individual arbitration administered by the American Arbitration Association under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, rather than in court, except that either of us may bring an individual claim in small claims court. You and Everyday Bills each waive the right to a jury trial and to take part in a class action or class arbitration.

You can opt out of this arbitration agreement by emailing legal@everydaybills.com within 30 days of first accepting these terms, with your name, account email and a statement that you're opting out.

25. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of California and applicable federal law, without regard to conflict of law rules.

26. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. If a change is significant, we'll tell you by email or in the app at least 30 days before it takes effect. If you keep using Everyday Bills after the change takes effect, you accept the updated terms. If you don't agree, you can cancel before then.
